Irish Destination Wedding at Howth and the Anglers Rest

Irish destination wedding couple Brendan and Sherien had the most amazing weather today for their outdoor ceremony! They had the fabulous Orla from Waterlily weddings https://www.waterlilyweddings.com there to orchestrate the ceremony and she made sure everything ran smoothly. An amazing floral arch by boutique blooms http://boutiqueblooms.ie , chivari chairs and the clearest blue skies were the perfect backdrop to their intimate Irish elopement wedding. The couple came all the way from Florida, USA and brought the sun with them. OK, so we were having a heatwave but this couple really did bring the love with them. They were joined by their closest family and friends and the ceremony was officiated by one of their best friends. It was really windy there at the top of Howth head but our music carried to the guests as they were waiting for the bride to arrive.

While the guests were seating we played some Irish songs. Red is the Rose, Black is the colour, Will you go Lassie go (Wild mountain Thyme) and Inisheer. As the Bride arrived we played Plenty Irwin, a piece by O’ Carolan. It was a really simple ceremony during which we played Tabhair dom do Lamh (Give me your hand in Gaelic) and Si Beag Si Mor. As the couple walked down the Aisle as a newly married couple we played a few lively jigs.

The entire wedding party then boarded a vintage bus and made their way to The Anglers Rest. While the guest sipped proseco we were joined by a Banjo player and we sang some upbeat Irish folk songs. The Wild Rover, Whiskey in the Jar and Molly Malone.

This Irish destination wedding reception was really fun. We received so many compliments. This elopement wedding was a great success thanks to some of the best Irish wedding suppliers around. The cake by Cupcakes and counting https://cupcakesandcounting.com was to die for .  And the entertainment was fantastic! 😉

Asgards can’t wait for the next destination wedding in Ireland.
